Youth Office Calendar 2008 / 2009

1. Youth Office work year starts in July, end in June.

2. Keenan gave everyone a printout of the Youth Office Calendar for 2008/2009.

3. Events which require the ministry’s compulsory attendance are Youth Day Celebration, Parish Feast Day, Advent Retreat, Community Service, Countdown Dinner, Youth Commissioning, Youth Exhibition. Parish Youth Camp not really compulsory.

4. YISS appears in the calendar for Apr-May 2009 as Keenan assumes we are holding it annually.

5. Outreach events (One youth ministry per month over a year)
-> Piazza Outreach. Emmaus is scheduled on August. We can select one mass timing of our preference.
-> Community Service. We will visit The Bukit Batok Home for the Aged every October.

6. Representatives from each ministry are to mark down events (which involve the parish) they will be holding for July 2008 - Jun 2009. Soni and Elizabeth brainstormed on potential events:
-> Retreat consisting of Taize, Sessions, P&W.
Parish Youth Camp not compulsory but if possible a few representatives should help out as facilitators.

Can be changed if that is not the case

Parish Feast Day
  • Soni asked if we have to prepare prizes if we choose games stall. Keenan replied that it depends on what items will be sponsored for the fun fair. He asked the team to prepare prizes as a precaution.
  • Each ministry is asked the stall they will be setting up. Emmaus chose games stall but told Keenan that there is a possibility that we will be helping out the adult charismatic group.
  • Each ministry has to count the number of regular attendee in their group. Keenan says that it is compulsory for each regular attendee to take 5 funfair coupons ($50) to sell. Unsold tickets will be absorbed by the member.
  • parish feast day stall will be from 7am - 3pm, might need to setup the stall 1 day before (keenan will update when it's closer to the d day)
