This a Proposal for the Life in the Spirit Seminar in 2009.

Goal of LISS

  1. To establish, or re-establish, personal relationships with Jesus.
  2. To help participants grow their spiritual lives and their relationship with God.
  3. To help participants yield to the action of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
  4. To introduce participants to a life of service and community, particularly in the parish.

Session 2: Jesus Saves
  • "Who do you say that I am?"  Who Jesus is for you? (*)
  • Share your feeling about accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior (*)
  • What do your baptismal vows mean to you now? (facil to explain what is baptismal vow) (*)
  • Which of the Scriptureal titles for Jesus are meaningful for you: Good Shepherd, Lord, King of Kings, Christ, Lamb of God, Son of Mary, Saviour, Healer, Brother, Emmanuel, Word of God, Bread of life. Explain. 
Session 3: New Life
  • What do you see in the person and life of Jesus? What is different? What are the things that caught your mind? or troubles you? (*)
  • What do you think it was like to see Jesus baptized in the Jordan, and later to see him heal the blind and the deaf? 
  • What does it mean to have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit? (*)
  • What is missing in your life? What do you expect to see in a New Life? (*)
  • Do you need Breath, Fire, Wind, a Helper or an Advocate in your life? Why?
Session 4: Receiving God's Gift
  • What importance do repentance, conversion or reconciliation have in your family? (*)
  • What mental picture do you have of the disciples on Pentecost? (*)
  • What do you expect to happen when we pray for baptism in the Spirit next week? (*)
  • How could charisms like healing, prophecy, wisdom, gift of tongues help in daily life? (*)
Session 6: Growth
  • What kinds of spiritual gifts and struggles have you experienced since last week? 
  • How have prayer, community, Scirpture or Sacraments sustained you in a relationship with God?
  • What step could you take in order to grow more in the spiritual life?
Session 7: Transformation in Christ
  • What do you think holiness means in everyday life?
  • How is God calling you to be a "missionary" within your own family, parish, and community?
  • What charisms might be involved in this mission?
  • How would you want to stay in touch with people in the Seminar after it ends?
